I’m so happy to hear that many friends and family have joined the Adidas Avenue A subscription box – now I’m able to chat and count the days down till our boxes arrive! For those of you who don’t know already, Avenue A by Adidas is a fitness celebrity/influencer curated quarterly (4x per year – ships every 3 months) box filled where style and performance collide with a mix of premium apparel and footwear. Each box is filled with at least 3 premium items. This box is priced at $150 — a high price point on the spectrum of subscription services but take a closer look at the products featured and you’ll be glad to know that the box retails well over $150.
The Winter 2016 box was curated by Rita Ora, who has had collections with Adidas in the past. No surprise here, some of the pieces from her current Adidas collaboration ‘Banned From Normal’ were included in this quarter’s box. But what was a surprise was that subscribers received two pairs of sneakers! Here’s a look at what the Winter 2016 box included:
First off, this quarter my Adidas Avenue A box didn’t arrive in it’s usual box! It arrived separately packaged in plastic — which is strange because all over times it came in the subscription box with a guide to explain the items in the box. Aside from that, all the pieces were there and none were missing, yay!
I’ll admit that the Banned From Normal pieces had to grow on me – it took a couple weeks until I could convince myself to wear it out in public! The hoodie is incredibly comfortable and though it’s quite oversized I can make it work. The sleeves are about a hand length too long and the overall body of the hoodie falls below my hips and is enough to be considered a sweater dress. I’ve never been big on the Adidas tights – they’re far too thin and aren’t compressive at all but I can see myself wearing these tights around the house and for quick errands in the neighborhood. Not quite sure how they’d hold up during a boxing class but I think the look of these tights would be perfect to wear for boxing one of these days!
The 2-in-1 layered top is my least favorite item of the box. Like the hoodie, the layering top is far too large. The first gray layer is super unflattering and the arm holes are too large – this will end up being an ‘around the house’ type of top. Luckily, the 2-in-1’s can be worn alone and I plan on layering the white outer shell with another tank or sports bra.
My favorite pieces of this box are the sneakers! I was afraid that either one would end up being too big, but they fit true to my size! They’re both comfortable to wear while walking around the city and the AlphaBOUNCE held up in a boxing class! I’m glad to see that Adidas Avenue A sent a lifestyle sneaker in this box – a good switch up from the usual running sneakers!
Spring 2017 boxes are now open to sign up for those of you who aren’t already subscribed. Those boxes will be curated by fitness influencer, Hannah Bronfman and her sneak peek item has been released! Click here to see what you’re definitely getting in next quarter’s box!
