On July 16, 2018, friends and yogi followers of Sharon Gannon gathered at the Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall for an Evening of Magic. Pianist Katya Grineva performed pieces from her new album, The Complete Chopin Nocturnes, to celebrate the release of Sharon’s book, The Magic Ten and Beyond.
If Sharon Gannon’s name rings a bell, it’s because she’s the founder of Jivamukti Yoga, the yoga practice where the path to enlightenment is through compassion for all beings. Since founding the New York City school and method in 1984, Jivamukti Yoga studios have opened all over the world including London, Moscow, and Sydney.
Sharon believes that a yoga practice doesn’t have to stay in a studio. That yoga, and wellness in general, could be practiced anywhere by anyone. In believing so, Sharon has written The Magic Ten and Beyond, which explains how to create your own daily spiritual practice and habits using yoga poses, meditation, and other teachings. Readers can immediately incorporate and begin their days with greater focus, compassion and joy. You know that harmonious feeling you suddenly are embraced with while laying in savasana? You can feel that harmonious even off the mat and Sharon Garon is giving readers the tools to make it possible.
