A few weeks back I had started an obsession over beauty/anti-aging (as a preventative measure!) products and trying to find more information on the right products I should be using which led into me researching programs like Birchbox and New Beauty’s Test Tube.  In case you’re wondering, I did subscribe for the Test Tube.  But anyway, in the search for samples, free products, beauty, and cosmetics, I somehow stumbled upon Influenster.

Influenster is easy and free to sign up.  Once you’re all in the system, you complete surveys to gain badges (badges like Foursquare and Yelp) that fit your lifestyle/personality.  They have badges for people who are jetsetters, dog lovers, beauty addicts, bloggers, etc.  There’s quite a few!  Once you complete a survey, you’ll either be notified whether or not you qualify (based on your survey answers) to receive the badge.  If you do gain access to the badge, then you’re all set to go.

Based on the badges you ‘unlock’, you’ll receive a shipment of free products aka Voxbox that corresponds to that badge in which Influenster hopes that you’ll rant and rave about the product after using it.  Interesting, huh?  I was able to obtain the “Cosmo Voxbox” and here’s a photo of what I received!

Inside the voxbox, are the following products:

1.    I received the Cupcake Couture scent in Dreamy Pink Frosting and trust me, it seriously does smell like frosting!
2. Refillable Venus ProSkin MoistureRich Razor w/ 2 replacement cartridges (retail = $9.79) – Venus Proskin MoistureRich Razor has shave gel bars enhanced with triple blend of body butters, which create a layer of protection for your skin with every stroke. Plus, it feature the trusted Venus three-blade technology for an ultra-close shave; our rounded, pivoting head for those hard-to-reach places; and an ergonomic handle for great control in wet, soapy environments.  I needed to replace the cartridge on my current razor, so I’ll actually be switching my current razor to this new Venus one!
3. Proactive 3-Step System (30-day system retail = $19.95) – Comes with Renewing Cleanser, Revitalizing Toner, & Repairing Treatment.  I’ve been really lucky to have easy to manage skin, so Proactive really won’t affect me as much as someone who may have acne problems.  I break out here and there so I’ll be using the toner (I broke my toner on a flight since the container was glass -___-) and the repairing treatment for blemishes and on-spot treatment.  The cleanser does contain benzoyl peroxide which may dry out my skin and since I really don’t have on-going acne problems, I’ll be skipping from using the cleanser.
