Burberry has just introduced The Essentials; an edit of the must-have products, including Fresh Glow, the 55% water-infused primer at the heart of every Burberry make-up journey. The collection is design around Burberry’s core make-up philosophy of prime, contour, and highlight – make-up everyone can use to effortlessly enhance their features and achieve the flawless Burberry glow.
And this lucky gal has been given a chance to sample these products thanks to Influenster.
Fresh Glow Luminous Fluid Base in Golden Radiance No.02
A multi-use 55% water-infused primer that hydrates the skin, illuminates the complexion and boosts its natural radiance. This can be worn simply as a primer or mixed with foundation. Golden Radiance No.02 provides a subtle sun-kissed glow, suitable for all skin tones.
Tip: For extra glow, add highlights on the cheekbones, bridge of the nose, or Cupid’s bow.
Fresh Glow Highlighting Luminous Pen in Nude Radiance No.01
This glow-to-go pen boosts radiance with precision highlights. The concentrated benefits of Fresh Glow formulated into a unique texture that glides across the skin to illuminate the complexion. The universal shade suits every skin tone and can be worn on bare skin or over foundation.
Tip: Try applying at the inner corners of the eyes and along the cheekbones to brighten, or on the Cupid’s bow to create the illusion of fuller lips.
Fresh Glow Highlighter in Rose Gold No.04
A new highlighting powder set with an intricate lace-pattern design. Illuminate the complexion and define features by sweeping the pearly, translucent powder across areas of the face where light would naturally hit – temples, cheekbones, and down the center of the nose.
Tip: May simply be used dry or try it wet to enhance the intensity of your glow.
The Essentials couldn’t have come at a better time for me – I’ve been enjoying the minimal make up look and focusing on defining my eyes with mascara and eyeliner, bronzer, and highlight for some dimension. The primer initially looks like it may have been too shimmery, but after applying this to my entire face (before foundation) I found that the effects of glow were on the subtler side. My skin looked hydrated and dewy, not shimmery as I was afraid of it appearing. The swatch below may seem on the dark side for the primer, but when it’s applied to the face I didn’t find added tint. This primer comes also comes in one more shade, Nude Radiance No.01.

The luminous pen is genius. It glides on smoothly and is easy to blend out once applying to the face. The pen is perfect to use along the brow bone, down the center of your nose, and on the Cupid’s bow (but really you can apply the pen anywhere). The highlight took on more of a pearlescent color than I generally like, but because of how smooth it goes on it’s easy to buff out. I’ve tossed this into my make-up bag and plan to use it on-the-go and when I’m getting ready at the gym.
The new highlighting powder is gorgeous, and I hate to throw that term around but it really is! The pattern is intricate but most importantly, this highlighter is pigmented and doesn’t take much to give a pop of highlight. While you don’t need much for a natural-looking highlight, you can build up that highlight without it feeling too heavy or cakey. I’m in love with the rose gold shade and found that it worked nicely on my skin. This highlighter comes in three additional shades: Pink Pearl, Nude Gold, and White.
Since receiving these Essentials by Burberry I’ve found myself reaching for these products and replacing my previous illuminating primer and highlighter. The highlighter powder has easily become one of my favorites since a little bit of this product goes a long way — subtle enough for day looks and can be built upon for a more intense glow for a night out. Thanks Burberry and Influenster for giving me that glow!
