This year, Halloween was spent in NYC. I’m so used to how Halloween in Vegas is — barely there costumes, spending the holiday at clubs and making rounds at college parties — so I was excited to see how Halloween in the city would be like. We did group costumes this year (I think this might’ve been my first group costume to participate in!) and we did Mario Kart! Sure, everyone tends to do Mario Kart at sometime.. but not to brag or boast, but our group was pretty legit 🙂 The group also had ‘sweatshop’ nights, just to build their costumes and accessorize the karts! I’m still pretty impressed with how the home-made costumes had turned out…
For Halloween weekend, the plan was to participate in a bar crawl that had over 150 bars throughout the city participating, which sounded extremely fun imagining us going around in our karts as we went from bar to bar. Notice how I said it ‘sounded fun’, well that’s because the weather decided to be extreme on the day/night we had planned to do this awesome bar crawl. It was snowing for a majority of the day and the wind wasn’t helping. It was freezing. All I wanted to do was stay in my warm bed and watch movies and it would’ve been the perfect day to do so but this was also the only day that we had all planned to make our debut. So with a few adjustments to the costume (coat, leggings, knee high socks, rain boots, & ponchos!) we made it out to a few bars. Here’s some photos from the night 🙂
Believe it or not, this isn’t even the entire team. We’re missing turtles & bananas!
Our Bowser even “automatically” won one of the bar’s costume contests!
