My favorite time to visit the Met Museum is in the summer. It’s when the Costume Institue by Conde Nast is brought to life by the Met Gala and is open to the public throughout the summer. This year Rei Kawakubo‘s avant garde pieces fill the exhibit and illustrates the designer’s revolutionary experiments in ‘in-betweenness’ — the space between boundaries.
Rei Kawakubo is a Japanese fashion designer based in Tokyo and Paris. Born on 11 October 1942 in Tokyo, she is the founder of Comme des Garçons and Dover Street Market.
If you have yet to see this exhibit, I recommend you visit soon! This exhibit is scheduled to close on September 4, 2017.
