Weekend Recap: November Edition – VEGAS!

Where did the month of November go!?  These last few weeks have been such a whirlwind for me that I haven’t been able to spend time to recap so I’ve decided to wrap it all up in a Weekend Recap (even though it’s the entire month of November) to let you know what I’ve been up to.

Visited Las Vegas

The beginning of the month, the boyfriend & I traveled to Vegas (my hometown!) to spend time with my family & friends and to attend J&E’s wedding! It was a short weekend that went by so quickly but I’m so glad that we were able to make it out.

The first thing on our itinerary was grabbing sushi at Sushi Kaya (Spring Mountain) and we went right after touching down in Vegas. One of the things I miss about home is the AYCE options available. Sure the city has AYCE and AYCD (All You Can Drink) but the quality and types of sushi isn’t the same and not to forget, good sushi out here is expensive.

I was able to catch up with J + JA before J’s wedding day at Maggiano’s, another must-visit whenever I’m back in Vegas. Topped off the night Downtown at Park on Fremont with some of my closest & best friends. This place has a great selection of cocktails, craft beers, & munchies.

The wedding was intimate & stunning! The flowers, table settings and all the little details were absolutely beautiful! The reception was held at Lake Las Vegas and for a quick second, I forgot that we were back in Vegas. They even had a live band taking care of the music for the night.

I have known the bride since freshman year of high school and though we attended different high shools, we had the closest group of girlfriends. Girls from the group went off to out-of-state colleges and after graduating we all moved around but somehow with all the craziness of life and thousands of miles between us, we still remain the same group of girls — it’s as if time or distance never happened. The girls J, J, J, H, & M (that’s me!) had all attended and reuniting never felt so good!

Random NYC Happenings

I’ve spent the last couple of weeks catching up with friends over some delicious dinners. I love how the holiday season is all about good eating 🙂 A couple that are worth noting are Bobby Flay’s Gato in NoHo and Eastward Kingdom in Bushwick! Stay tuned for posts on those. For now, here are more snapshots from the month!

Till next time.. ♥Mariel
