I used to be addicted to subscribing to multiple beauty subscriptions including Birchbox, Sample Society, New Beauty’s Test Tube, and Ipsy. My subscriptions stopped after I started to notice that I was getting the same products across the different subscriptions or products were being repeated. I figured if I really wanted to sample new products, Sephora would be my best bet and I didn’t need to shell out $10-$20/monthly for samples.
And then came Petit Vour, a beauty subscription box in which prides itself as being the ‘creme de la creme of cruelty free’. For $15/month, subscribers receive luxury beauty products (a mixture of deluxe samples and full size) at their doorsteps. I subscribed solely on the fact that Petit Vour is all about vegan beauty products, which I don’t have too many of in my beauty stash and would love to learn more about the brands that create/promote cruelty free beauty products!
I just received my first box in May — Here’s a rundown of everything I’ve received + my notes and opinions.
Lippy Girl – Vegocentric Organic Lipstick $23 | Since receiving this, I’ve been using this lipstick daily! The color is right up my alley as Schmoopy is a pinky-lilac color.
Zabana Essentials – Dry Glow Shampoo $9 | Tried this on 2nd day hair & it does a great job at being a dry shampoo. There is a bit of shimmer in the powder which initially I thought would be a big problem but after using it, it’s not that bad. I don’t see myself using this during the work week but if I need some dry shampoo during the weekends and on getaway, I’ll be using this.
NYL – Shimmer Scrub $11 | This is a great scrub, but note that it is shimmery! It’s not overly shimmery, but enough to make your skin looked sunkissed. I like that this scrub can serve as another purpose — shaving creme!
Mun – No. 11 Anarose Toner $2 | I wish that the sample included in the box was bigger and wasn’t just a one-deal kind of product. This was decent!
Based off the prices listed for the samples, this box is valued at $45! The Lippy Girl lipstick was the full size sample in this box and the amount of Dry Glow Shampoo is pretty impressive. I do wish that more of the No. 11 Anarose Toner was included but other than that, May’s box was solid. Petit Vour makes it easy to get a hold of these samples in full sizes in their online shop. There’s also a significant amount of cruelty free brands and products in the shop as well!
